Gibson Rebrand Project
Tasked with rebranding the iconic Gibson logo, I began by researching Gibson Guitar Company. I wanted to really hang onto the feel and vintage look of early Gibson logos and guitars.
Sketches.
I began by sketching out some of my ideas surrounding different aspects of guitars, playing with different shapes, especially of the iconic Gibson Les Paul, though you can see other Gibson guitar shapes as well. Ultimately I veered away from incorporating the guitar body into the design and opted for a text based logo, with 6 lines extending from either side that add tension, and movement while recalling the 6 string guitar.
