Washington Here We Come!

A military family for the last 17 years- we have a few moves under our belt. We got here to Washington the begining of August, and let me tell you this.....It is GORGEOUS here!! We have been very fortunate to have lived in several beautiful parts of this great country of ours, but this is the first time we have lived anywhere near the ocean, and the temperate ( and somewhat rainy) climate here surely does create some amazing forests. I cannot wait to really get out and explore all the natural beauty this state has to offer!

I will have to start remembering to bring my camera with me EVERYWHERE... this is just a quick snapshot with my phone, but I just HAD to capture the boats on this gorgeous day.

Beauty is everywhere. My passion is to capture that beauty; to document it for generations to come. As a mom, I know how quickly families change and grow, and I understand how important photographs are as part of a family legacy. I also understand how important it is to exist in photos; as a woman i know how difficult it can be to get in front of the camera, and as a photographer I know how important it is to get in front of that camera. I use my own understanding of being on both sides to make you feel comfortable and beautiful. My goal is always to capture an image of you that makes you feel as beautiful as everyone else sees you. I picked up my first camera around the age of twelve, and often times spent entire afternoons with my brother and sister, setting up "photo shoots" just for fun. I didn't get serious about photography until I had my first son in 2001. Self taught, I have learned hard lessons, but have always looked at each shot as a chance to grow and learn. I will always be learning and growing.
